Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need a therapist?

Therapy isn't only for times of crisis. It can be helpful if you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, having difficulty managing your emotions, struggling in your relationships, or navigating a major life change.

Therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand yourself, develop healthier coping skills, and make meaningful changes in your life. Seeking support is a proactive step toward taking care of your mental health.

What should I expect?

Getting started begins with a free 15-minute consultation. During this call, we'll briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, what you're looking for, and whether I may be a good fit for your needs. If we decide to move forward, we'll schedule your initial therapy session.

During your first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another and discussing your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. Together, we'll develop individualized treatment goals that will guide our work.

What kind of therapy do you use?

My approach is individualized based on your needs. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, psychoeducation, and trauma-informed care.

Rather than using one approach for everyone, we'll determine which strategies are most appropriate for your goals as we begin working together.

Who do you work with?

I provide therapy for teens ages 14+, adults, couples, and families in Colorado and Texas.

I support clients navigating concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, relationship and family conflict, life transitions, and mood and personality disorders.

Do you see clients in person?

At this time, Therapy With Jazz is 100% virtual. I am licensed to provide therapy to clients located in Colorado at the time of their session.

Virtual therapy allows you to attend sessions from a private, comfortable location that works for you.

Will I have to lie on a couch?

You can lie on a couch, lounge in a chair, or sit cross-legged on the floor—the choice is yours! I want you to be comfortable during our sessions.

I only ask that you attend from a quiet, private space where you can speak freely and participate fully in your session.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I currently accept Colorado Medicaid and also offer private-pay therapy.

Please contact me if you have questions about insurance coverage or payment before scheduling.
